Mémoire en partage : s’engager pour ne pas oublier / Sharing memories: committing to not forgetting
Ce mardi 11 novembre 2025, les élèves de 1ère CAP Aménagement Finition du Bâtiment et de 1ère CAP Peintre Applicateur de Revêtements et leurs parents ont eu l’honneur de représenter le lycée Léopold Bissol aux côtés de M. le Proviseur, Mme la Proviseure adjointe, Mme Brival et Mme Vigon, lors de la cérémonie de commémoration de l’Armistice à Fort-de-France.
On Tuesday, November 11, 2025, the students of 1st CAP Building Finishing and 1st CAP Painting Coating Applicator and their parents had the honor of representing the Léopold Bissol high school alongside the Headmaster, the Deputy Headmistress, Mrs. Brival and Mrs. Vigon, during the Armistice commemoration ceremony in Fort-de-France.
Comme partout en France, cette journée rappelle notre devoir de mémoire envers celles et ceux qui ont donné leur vie pour la liberté. Il y a 107 ans, l’armistice du 11 novembre 1918 mettait fin à la Première Guerre mondiale, marquant un tournant dans l’histoire et affirmant les valeurs qui nous unissent : Liberté, Égalité, Fraternité.
As everywhere in France, this day reminds us of our duty to remember those who gave their lives for freedom. 107 years ago, the armistice of November 11, 1918, brought an end to the First World War, marking a turning point in history and affirming the values that unite us: Liberty, Equality, Fraternity.
Deux temps forts ont marqué cette journée/ Two key moments marked this day
A moment of exchange and sharing at City Hall, where our students had the opportunity to hear history brought to life by the voices of veterans, our defenders, and our elected officials. A rich experience filled with emotion and civic learning.
“In Fort-de-France, as in all the municipalities of the Republic, we keep alive this duty of remembrance that unites our people around those who gave their lives for freedom. 107 years ago, the armistice of November 11, 1918, brought an end to the First World War… These men fought for a universal ideal: human dignity, respect, and peace. They fought for the Republic and for this motto that we have a duty to uphold: Liberty, Equality, Fraternity.” These words resonate powerfully and remind us that peace is never a given: it is built every day, in our schools, our neighborhoods, and our hearts.
Un moment marqué par les paroles de Monsieur le Maire, Didier LAGUERRE
Un moment d’échange et de partage à l’Hôtel de Ville , où nos élèves ont eu l’opportunité d’écouter l’histoire vivante portée par la voix des anciens combattants, de nos défenseurs et de nos élus. Une expérience riche en émotions et en apprentissages citoyens.
« À Fort-de-France, comme dans toutes les communes de la République, nous faisons vivre ce devoir de mémoire qui unit notre peuple autour de ceux qui ont donné leur vie pour la liberté. Il y a 107 ans, l’armistice du 11 novembre 1918 mettait fin à la Première Guerre mondiale… Ces hommes se sont battus pour une idée universelle : la dignité humaine, le respect et la paix. Ils se sont battus pour la République et pour cette devise que nous avons le devoir de faire vivre : Liberté, Égalité, Fraternité. »
Ces mots résonnent avec force et rappellent que la paix n’est jamais acquise : elle se construit chaque jour, dans nos écoles, nos quartiers et nos cœurs..
Un dépôt de gerbes symbolique
Une marche dans les rues de Fort-de-France, qui s’est conclue par le dépôt de gerbe au Monument aux Morts sur la place de la Savane. Un geste fort pour honorer la mémoire et affirmer notre engagement pour les valeurs de paix et de fraternité.
La présence de nos élèves à cette cérémonie est un geste fort : ils participent activement à la vie citoyenne et portent haut les valeurs de tolérance, de respect et de solidarité. À travers ces moments, nous construisons ensemble une école ouverte sur le monde, consciente des enjeux de paix et de justice.
A march through the streets of Fort-de-France culminated in the laying of a wreath at the War Memorial in Savane Square. A powerful gesture to honor the memory of those who have fallen and to affirm our commitment to the values of peace and fraternity.
The presence of our students at this ceremony is a powerful statement: they actively participate in civic life and uphold the values of tolerance, respect, and solidarity. Through these moments, we are building together a school open to the world, aware of the challenges of peace and justice.
